Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) is Chemical substances harmful to humans that exist in or accumulate within the bodies of animals and plants, and circulate in the natural environment over extended periods. Persistent organic pollutants (PoPs) are a class of naturally occurring or synthetic organic pollutants characterized by persistence, bioaccumulation, semi-volatility, and high toxicity. POPs include pesticides, industrial chemicals, and by-products unintentionally generated during industrial processes . These pollutants can travel long distances through various environmental media (air, water, organisms), crossing borders and affecting human health and ecosystems even in areas where PoPs were never used or produced, causing significant global harm.

Phthalates is a general term for compounds which result from the reaction of phthalic anhydride and alcohol. Such substances are mainly employed as plasticisers make plastics and rubber more piable. Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) Molecular Weight Testing
Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), abbreviated as GPC, utilizes the differential elution time of molecules of various sizes through a gel column to separate molecules of different molecular weights in high polymers. The intensity and elution time of each eluted component are measured using a refractive index detector. By comparing the elution time of unknown samples with the standard curve of known standard materials in terms of elution time and molecular weight, the molecular weight and molecular weight distribution of each eluted component of the unknown sample can be determined.

US Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA)
The full name of TSCA is the Toxic Substance Control Act, which was officially implemented on October 11, 1976. The Act aims to comprehensively consider the environmental, economic and social impacts of chemical substances circulating in the United States. and prevent "unreasonable risks" to human health and the environment. After several revisions, it has now become the effective regulation of chemical substances in the United States. The Hazardous Substances Final Rule is based on TSCA Section 6 requirements that require EPA to take expedited regulatory action to regulate persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT) chemicals.
